The Heart and History of "Chapters & Beyond"

Jamie Wolf

Some ideas brew for years. Others pop up because there’s a need and you think, “well, who else is going to do it?”

Chapters & Beyond was the second kind.

I’m Jamie Wolf, an author, entrepreneur, and community builder based in Chippewa Falls. My work has often lived at the intersection of storytelling and healing. After publishing my memoir, Putting Myself Back Together: From Broken to Healed After Abuse, I began attending literary events and connecting more deeply with writers in our region. What I noticed was this: talent was everywhere, but not always space. Passion surrounded me, but not always belonging.

I wanted to create something completely different and change the precedent of how these events are held.

Chapters & Beyond was born with a simple but powerful vision: I want everyone to walk into the room and feel, “I belong here”.

So, it’s more than a book convention. It’s an intentional gathering of community.

Founder Jamie Wolf

It’s for the writer who has never had a table before.

It’s for the reader who wants to hear from authors beyond the pages.

It’s for the artist and entrepreneur who want to be seen and valued.

It’s for people who have never seen themselves truly represented in literary spaces.

It’s even for families!

From the very beginning, inclusivity has been at the cornerstone of this event. It’s essentially the whole point. This means diverse genres, diverse voices, and accessible accommodations. It means a quiet room with weighted blankets and noise-cancelling headphones, a separate children’s activity space, and a remote writer catalogue so even those who cannot physically be there can still participate.

It is so important to me to create such a welcoming literary space because storytelling has saved my life in many ways.
— Jamie Wolf

It is so important to me to create such a welcoming literary space because storytelling has saved my life in many ways. Writing gave me a way to convey things I once could not name. Community has given me strength when I felt the most isolated in my life. And I know firsthand what it means to need a room where you feel seen. That is the lived experience that inspired Chapters & Beyond.

I hope attendees walk away with more than a signed book and a swag bag. I hope they leave with connection, inspiration…with new collaborations forming and a sense of creativity that feels stronger with support behind them.

I hope authors find this becomes a platform that feels supportive and safe, and that helps them grow. For vendors, I hope this is a space where their work is valued.

We are truly building something community-powered. We’re doing this through local partnerships with sponsors who believe in creative equity and care about accessibility and inclusion. We’re also asking for feedback to help shape the event into something for everyone.

This will not be a one-time gathering. This is a movement toward more inclusive creative systems in our region and beyond.

If you are reading this and wonder if you fit here, the answer is yes.

Mark your calendars for July 10, 2027, at the UW-Eau Claire Davies Center! We’re turning the page, together.

Thank you for being here for the start of it!
